The RAK3172-SiP is a compact, low-power module for long-range wireless data transmission via LoRaWAN. Easy to use, it is compatible with several server platforms and enables the creation of customized LoRa networks. Configure it using AT commands and develop custom firmware using RUI3 APIs - ideal for battery-powered IoT applications.
The RAK3172-SiP and RAK3172LP-SiP are low-power, long-range LoRaWAN transceivers, based on the STM32WLE5JC SoC and presented in System-in-Package (SiP) format. These two modules use different RF output paths to optimize current consumption according to the application. The RAK3172-SiP uses RFO_HP, while the RAK3172LP-SiP uses the RFO_LP of the STM32WL SoC transceiver.
The RAK3172-SiP block diagram illustrates its internal structure.
The RAK3172-SiP supports operating frequencies from 863 to 930 MHz.
The current drawn by RAK3172-SiP and RAK3172LP-SiP modules varies according to their operating status:
Note: The RAK3172LP-SiP offers slightly lower power consumption in low-power transmit mode, but the RAK3172-SiP offers higher transmit power in TX mode. Your choice of module will therefore depend on your needs in terms of range and power consumption.
